My 14 year old sister just threw herself against her bed in a fit of hysteria because my father would not permit her to take the following items to the French Alps:

• A pair of flip flops.
• A tropically-printed ruffle mini-skirt.
• Three off-the-shoulder midriff t-shirts.
• Jean shorts.
